This fixation on money and profits is destroying the world. The limited intelligence of those running the world is entirely focused on living in the here and now. They don't realize things can't continue the way they are going. It should not be business as usual, when the entire world is at stake. If these high rollers don't concern themselves about taking care of the planet first, there will be nothing left. There will be NO future generations or even life. AI..Artificial intelligence be dammed. Everything mankind has invented has major downsides, which have been ignored. Using the resources of the world to destroy it...is stupidity beyond belief.

Suicidal stupidity in fact. No other way to describe it. No way to describe the sadness it brings with it either.

Don't slip and fall on the proverbial techno-fascist banana peel, right @Dr. Nicholas Corrin?! https://open.substack.com/pub/resilienciero/p/discerning-illusion-from-reality?r=pgmml&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true

Love the 1959 Dodge Royal photo. Brings back chrome plastered memories.

Yes, very precisely and correctly put sir! Chromatography, no less. Those were the good ole days of Four Eyes, not 5 Eyes or A Eyes.

What is the largest selling item at Walmart?

BANANAS.

That grand ol' pedo, Woody Allen, made a movie in 1971 titled BANANAS.

The world has gone BANANAS.

Yes, you nailed it. To make this theme even crazier, and funnier, and weirder and stupider, here's a little anecdote. About 25 years ago I was teaching in S. Cal. and one of my students was a refugee from Afghanistan. He told me that over there bananas were illegal as they were designated obscene. Perhaps the Taliban are more rational than we are led to believe? Then again, perhaps they hold stock in Walmart. Nothing would surprise me.

The Lampoon started in England and satirical commentary provided a counterballast to the ineradicable evils of the ruling classes. One could say, in fact, that such humor functions as the white blood cells do in the body and that without it, any version of "democracy", or even civilization, quickly grows gangrenous. Also, without humor, too much gravity leads a person to an early grave (nocebo effect etc.) England's great gift to the world (and small compensation for pillaging the hell out of it), was to teach other peoples how to do humor. Without humor, the ship goes down real fast. Thanks for sharing your laughter!
